I no longer get the mapping problems when I press the or "\" keys.īorrowing from what others have said already here and elsewhere, I believe I now have VMware Fusion successfully mapping my UK keyboards (MacBook Pro and old Bluetooth extended, in case you’re wondering), for Windows at least for letters, numbers and symbols. I found that using the US QWERTY keyboard option in Windows 8.1 settings solved my problem of using my Mac keyboard in a Windows 8.1 VM. It doesn't look like Windows 8.1 provides any specific keyboards for Apple keyboards. If it's not listed, click "Add Keyboard" and add "US QWERTY".ĥ) Return to the main Region and Language summary screen, click on newly added language, then click "Set as primary" if you have more than one language. In my situation I was using a Macbook Pro notebook keyboard on my Mac. I experienced a similar problem with my keyboard mapping with Windows 8.1 installed into a VMWare Fusion 6.0 VM.
